Medicinal Ingredients (Per 5 mL / 1 Teaspoon)

  • Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide – 5 mg (Cough suppressant)

  • Guaifenesin – 50 mg (Expectorant)

Recommended Dose

Children 6–12 years:

  • Shake well before use

  • Take 2 teaspoons (10 mL) every 6 hours

  • Maximum 40 mL per 24 hours

  • Do not exceed recommended dose

Children under 6: Do not use.

Cautions

  • Do not use with other cough or cold medications.

  • Do not use with MAOIs, SSRIs, or within 2 weeks of stopping them.

  • Do not use if allergic to any ingredient.

Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if the child has:

  • chronic cough

  • cough with excessive mucus

  • trouble breathing

  • chronic lung disease (asthma or emphysema)

  • heart or thyroid disease

  • high blood pressure

  • diabetes

  • glaucoma

  • reduced kidney function

  • any serious underlying condition

  • is taking any prescription, OTC, or natural health product

Stop use and seek medical advice if:

  • symptoms worsen or last more than 7 days

  • new symptoms develop

  • child coughs up yellow/green mucus

  • fever above 38°C

  • persistent headache

  • allergic reactions occur (rash, wheezing, itching)

  • side effects appear such as drowsiness, hallucinations, rapid heartbeat, breathing difficulty
